Discover the Magic Words for Your Website
Once you get visitors to your website, what are you going to talk about?
Well you are going to tell them how good you are, what have done for who, how long you have been in business, blah blah blah.
That is all well and good, but you need to realise that your visitors just don’t care about you. If someone turns up to your website, you only have a few seconds to impress them, and you are not going to do that by talking about yourself. Your visitor wants to know how you can help them, what is in it for them; their first thought is “what’s in it for me?” and they want to know fast.
This is where the Magic Words come in to play.
The Magic Words are ‘You’ and ‘Your’.
By using the words ‘You’ and ‘Your’ you are creating a personal communication with your reader which it going to get their attention. If you also communicate the benefits of your service or product to the reader, they will immediate find out ‘what’s in it for them’.
By creating this personal communication and by quickly telling your visitors how your product or service is going to solve their problems or improve their lives in some way is a massive step in getting them to click on your links and begin finding out more about your company. If you can keep this style of communication throughout all of the copy on your website, by the time your visitors have read a few pages they are going to start to trust you as they feel you are talking directly to them. If you include your name at the bottom of a few pages your visitor will realise that there is a real person behind the text.
Force yourself to use the words ‘You’ and ‘Your’ and this will help to get more of your visitors to contact you or your company.
